BackupAssist makes backups and data protection simple by performing automatic, scheduled backups of Windows Servers. It integrates with different industry standard technologies to offer a variety of backup engines for file, system and application backups. It also includes in-built integration with Microsoft?s Windows Backup Utility (NTbackup) to allow users to backup files, folders, system state and Active Directory. Drive imaging functionality with hardware-independent, bare-metal restoration on Windows Server 2008 is also available. Internet based backups using the Rsync protocol can be achieved via the Rsync component of BackupAssist. Applications such as Exchange Server and SQL Server can also be backed up. Exchange Server can be backed up at both the Information Store and the Individual Mailbox levels and SQL Server can be backed up through daily or near-continuous backups.
